Lab'Urba: Training School
This doctoral seminar emerged from the partnership between UN-Habitat and Université Gustave Eiffel, which places social innovation at the heart of urban adaptation and transformation in response to contemporary climate challenges.
Initiated by Lab’Urba, the seminar brought together the École Nationale d’Architecture et d’Urbanisme (ENAU), the Institut Supérieur des Technologies de l’Environnement, de l’Urbanisme et du Bâtiment (ISTEUB), the Institut de Recherche sur le Maghreb Contemporain (IRMC), and the KSN network, around the shared goal of improving urban environments in the context of climate disruption — particularly the warming climate of the MENA region.
The pedagogical objective focused on doctoral training, specifically on scientific writing and methodological challenges encountered in research related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The aim was to contextualize and understand their operational potential, rather than treating them as abstract normative principles detached from reality.
The seminar also provided an opportunity to build long-term scientific partnerships among the participating institutions.
