Chiraz GAFSIA

Chiraz Gafsia is the Project Lead for the JDID operation on behalf of UN-Habitat Tunisia.

An architect and urban planner by training, she graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris-La Villette in 2010 and holds a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from the École d’Urbanisme de Paris.

She joined the UN agency in 2020 as a Project Coordinator. Her work focuses primarily on issues related to urban margins and inclusion, public space, and participatory processes in unplanned, so-called “informal” neighborhoods. In addition, she leads and guides the development of partnerships and several projects addressing various issues, including housing, adequate shelter, and the preservation of endangered architectural heritage in Tunis.
